Video sitemaps - Creating & Submitting Video sitemaps

In my previous article on sitemaps I discuss about different kind of sitemaps that a webmaster can create for better search engine visibility. In the article "Using sitemaps for big three G-Y-M" we discussed about sitemaps for google, yahoo and Msn along with HTML sitemaps for a website. In this article I will explain about video sitemaps. Very first question that will strike anyone's mind is what are video sitemaps and how can I create a video sitemap?

Creating video sitemaps: Video sitemaps are supported by both google and yahoo thus allowing webmasters for media syndication. Video sitemaps use same protocols as of RSs 2.0 or XML sitemaps. You can create video sitemaps easily by following the specifications by search engines for Video sitemaps. You can check the syntax and format for video sitemaps at Google Guidelines (http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=80472&ctx=sibling) and Yahoo specifications (http://video.search.yahoo.com/mrss). Once created your sitemaps will look something like the code below:

Submitting Video sitemaps: Submitting video sitemaps in google is exactly same as that of google XML sitemaps. Just login, verify site and submit the sitemaps location.
